Wilma Janet Jones Sloter, 99, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (March 8, 2018) at the Tygart Center in Fairmont. She was born March 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank Charles and Agnus Summers Jones.
Mrs. Sloter retired as an office worker at Owens-Illinois after many years of service. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In her free time, she enjoyed genealogy, quilting and traveling.
Wilma is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Charles Sloter; her sisters, Levenia Lowe, Birdie Morris and Sarah Clemens; a great-great nephew, Stephen Harris; and two nieces, Agnes Harris and Juanita Middaugh.
Friends and family may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Bishop J. C. Bott officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
