William Max Haddix

William Max Haddix William Max Haddix, 80, of Fairmont, passed Friday (Aug. 3, 2018) at his home to be with the Lord and reunited with the love of his life, Wanda Haddix, who passed Nov. 29, 1994 and whose remains will be buried with him. Max was born to the late William and Flossie Auvil Haddix on Feb. 11, 1938 and graduated from East Fairmont High School.
He is survived by three children, Douglas Michael Haddix of Fairmont, Cynthia K. Smith (David) of Fairmont and Jeffrey C. Haddix (Mistie) of Kearneysville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tyler Haddix (Emily) of Fairmont, Lyndsey Rollison (Justis) of Dayton Ohio, Braydon Haddix of Dayton Ohio, Shannon Dalton (Joe) of Reynoldsburg Ohio, Aaron Smith of Canal Winchester Ohio, David Montgomery Smith of Fort Worth Texas and Evrhett Haddix of Kearneysville. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren, Dakota and Ava Haddix of Fairmont, Alayna and Everly Dalton of Reynoldsburg Ohio and Aubrey, Conner, Judah and Layne Rollison of Dayton Ohio. He is also survived by three siblings, Willard Haddix (Zella), Ruby Lockhart and Fred Haddix (Diane) and several nieces and nephews and friend Rose Culp.
In addition to his wife, mother and father, Max was preceded in death by an infant son, William Max Haddix Jr., a sister, Mary Ellen Rudy and two brothers-in-law, Cleo "Doc" Rudy and Clarence "Buck" Lockhart.
Max loved to travel, was an avid golfer, an active member of Green Hills Country Club, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He retired from Westinghouse/North American Philips and faithfully attended Life United Methodist Church.
The family will receive family and friends from noon-2 p.m. and from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home on Merchant St. Fairmont, WV. The service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Larry Buckland officiating. Burial will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens immediately after the service.
