Virgil will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and neighbors.
Virgil is survived by his mother, Margaret Wilfong, of Fairmont; brothers: James H. Wilfong (Kathy) of Florida, Raymond C. Wilfong, of Washington, Walter D. Wilfong (Annette), of Fairmont, and Thomas A. Wilfong (Deana), of Pennsylvania; sisters: Dorothy A. Hoffman (Clifford "Pooch"), of Fairmont, Deborah K. Mafield, of Fairmont, and Nancy L. Miller (Jonathan), of Morgantown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses: Deloris and Eric Meadows, Jimmie and Tammy Wilfong, Kristie Wilfong Daniel and husband Levi, Raymond Wilfong, Robert Wilfong, James Wilfong, David Wilfong, Jason Mafield, Amanda and Cory Fitzpatrick, Courtney and Josh Corwin, Whitney and Jared Rogers, Andrew Miller, Larry Miller, Mark Wilfong, Chelsea Taylor, Thomas Wilfong, Jr., Brandon Wilfong, Wyatt Wilfong, Josh Custer, Jacqueline Terry, and Heather Terry, as well as many loving great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister, Deloris J. Wilfong; nephew, Jarrett Hoffman; and brother-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Mafield. Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., and on Friday, Dec. 28 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., with services starting at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott King officiating. Interment will follow at Payne Cemetery.
