Terry Lee Shaw Skeen, 67, of Ripley, passed away Friday (Nov. 10, 2017) at Jackson General Hospital following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 11, 1949 at Morgantown, a daughter of the late Dale and Norma Dalton Shaw.
She obtained a Masters in Social Services and Correctional Peer Counseling from West Virginia State University and worked many years at the Spencer State Hospital. Terry was a kind soul who had many hobbies and interests including interior decorating, soul music, modeling and dancing. She also enjoyed traveling to one of her favorite places, Virginia Beach.
She is survived by friends that were like daughters, Delores Anthony and Connie "Mia" Mitchell; sister, Joyce Dalton of Morgantown; and grandchildren that she loved dearly and was present for all their births, Braylee Rhodes, Dixie Burdette, Atreyu Mitchell and Declan Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Skeen.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley with Pastor S. R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
