Sylvia Lee Johnson, 77, of Roanoke, Virginia, formerly of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 14, 2017).
She was born March 23, 1939, in Follansbee, daughter of the late William and Edna Hart.
Sylvia was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William "Tony" Johnson; a daughter, Catherine "Cathy" Chafin Belcher; a brother, William "Buck" Hart; and a sister, Janet Jones.
Sylvia is survived by three children, William "Bill" Johnson and wife Carla of Winchester, Virginia, Lisa Bailey and husband David of Roanoke, Virginia, and Tonimarie Johnson of St. Albans; three grandsons, Joshua Chafin, Jay Carozza, and Matthew Chafin; a great-granddaughter, Emily Chafin; a brother, Fred Hart; and three sisters, Betty Hart, Dorothy Thompson and Sue Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel in Fairview. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Evangelist Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Benefield Cemetery, Pumpkin Center, in Fairview.
