Steve A. Ladanye, 81, of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday (Oct. 10, 2017) at River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg.
Steve was born Aug. 17, 1936, in PK Addition, the son of the late Julius and Elizabeth Charcandi Ladanye.
He worked and retired from Lockheed Martin and had owned Steve's Refrigeration in Bridgeport. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and Korea. He loved his family, fishing and woodworking. He was Presbyterian by faith.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Hamilton; brothers, Andrew, Joseph and Frank Ladanye; and grandson, Jonathan Ladanye.
Those that he left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce Ellen (Nuzum) Ladanye; son, Brian Ladanye and wife Danita of Shinnston; grandson, Brandon Ladanye and wife Amanda of Nashville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Rachel Ladanye of Shinnston; daughter, Kristine Valenti and husband Carl of Bridgeport; granddaughter, Elissa Boone and fiancé Richard Stanley of Fairmont; great-grandson, Ryan Boone of Fairmont; three sisters, Julia "Annie" Cheuvront of Ravenna, Ohio, Mary Ellen Ladanye of Clarksburg, and Carloyn Ash and husband Eddie of Shinnston.
Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dorsey Funeral Home. 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston. The funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday with Dr. George Heitman, pastor officiating. Entombment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Mausoleum in Shinnston. Military rites accorded by Harrison County Honor Guard.
