The one and only Stephen Duane Wilder of Morgantown died peacefully in hospice care in his home in Parkersburg at 3:01 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 17, 2018).
Stephen was born March 28, 1991 in Kingwood and was the third born out of 10 children. He was the beloved son of Leslie Knott and Duane Wilder; grandson of Ezra Guthrie and Beverly Wilder; loving brother of Brandie Miles (Wilder), David Wilder, Joseph Wilder, Ridgley Knott, Dylan Wilder, Laird Knott and Ivy Knott; and stepbrother to Joseph Henson.
Survived by his twin children, 6-year-olds Blake and Jaylynn, and 2-year-old Karmen. He was loved by his aunts, Janice Kerns and Beth Wotring.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Guthrie; grandfather, Cecil Wilder; and little sister, Bella Rose; fiance, Patience Gibson; ex-wife and mother of his twins, Ronda Humberson; and the mother of his daughter, Destiny Jones. He was loved and cherished by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Stephen was an amazing free spirit. He loved to make and listen to music. His favorite sport was basketball. He could turn the worst scenario into something humorous. He was always the center of attention in the room, even without meaning to be. He had eyes as blue as the ocean, and a smile that could light up the night sky. Though his life was cut so very short, he absolutely lived. He lived life by his terms. Nothing could hold him back. He loved hard. He was an intelligent, handsome, stubborn, extreme, funny, strong and unique person. He truly was one of a kind. There will never be another like him. He will be deeply missed by all whom love him.
