Shirley's Story

Shirley Ann Layne Russell, 80, of Fairmont, passed away Friday (Jan. 20, 2017) at her residence.
She was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Monongah, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jackson Layne.
Shirley was a member of the Cross of Christ Community Church of Monongah, and former employee of Westinghouse Lamp Plant. She was a 1954 graduate of Monongah High School and a member of the West Virginia Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Charles F. Russell; four sisters, Doris Kubiet of Monongah, Joann Snider and husband Bill of Ohio, Judy Alkire of the Winfield Community, Carol Elliott and husband Ron of Mill Fall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Johnny, Charles, Dave and Bradley Layne; two sisters, Betty Bowyer and Margaret Faber.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Karl Streyle officiating. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Enterprise.
