Sharon Kay Phillips, 64, of Fairmont, passed away Saturday (Nov. 4, 2017) at the Tygart Center in Fairmont. She was born in Topeka, Kansas, on July 30, 1953, a daughter of the late LeRoy Walter Adams and Betty Jean (Desque) Adams.
She served as an administrator for the Convention and Visitor's Bureau of Marion County. Sharon loved pets, and was active with the Marion County Humane Society.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 21 years, Lloyd "Phil" Phillips, of Fairmont; as well as her son, John Hammond and his wife Amy, of Barrackville; her daughter Tania Proutt and her husband Pat of Fort Garland, Colorado; granddaughters Jasmine Deanne Hammond, Makayla Reckart, Bridgett Hammond, Tabitha Lovelace of Pueblo, Colorado, and Tanya (Proutt) Edward, of Kentucky; her great-grandchildren Max Proutt and Everett Edward; and her foster son Delbert Buckmaster, of Lovelock, Nevada.
She is also survived by her sisters, Jeanie Polehn of Washington State, and Penny Beafore and her late husband Mason, of Fairmont, and an aunt, Viola Clay, of Pallos, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Proutt.
In keeping with Sharon's wishes, her body will be cremated. There will be no public services.
