Sharon Jo Carnes, 70, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (April 13, 2017) at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, with family by her side.
She was born March 8, 1947, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Howard Theodore and Kathleen Virginia Barthalow Snider Sr.
Sharon graduated from West Fairmont High School. She retired from Aegis Communication, and she also worked several years at Westinghouse and Fairmont General Hospital. She loved to cook for family, whom she adored and loved with all her heart, and loved to crochet. Sharon never met a stranger.
She is survived by one son, Joseph "Joe" Snider and wife Lisa, Flemington; three grandchildren, Chad Newbraugh and Ashley, Fairmont, Erin Newbraugh and companion Ricky Cole, Morgantown, and Tabetha Snider and companion Stephen Hoskinson, Fairmont; seven great-grandchildren, "RJ" White, Destiny White, Aubrey Newbraugh, Leah Newbraugh, Landon Hoskinson, Colton Newbraugh and Royalty Cole; a very special nephew, Andrew Snider; sister-in-law, Donna Snider; four stepchildren, Melodie Lockhart and Tim, Gary R. Yanero and Teresa, Russell Yanero and Laura Moore; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and her very special "Furbabies," TJ and Boo-Kers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Yanero, on July 8, 1988; second husband, Harry J. Carnes, on April 17, 2016; and one brother, Howard T. Snider Jr.
At Sharon's wishes, she will be cremated, and a private graveside service will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. Bartlett Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the Carnes family.
