Sandra Lynn Alvaro Dick, 30, received her wings on Nov. 17, 2017, after her valiant battle with cystic fibrosis.
She was born on April 26, 1987 in Titusville, Florida, to Dominic Anthony "Peanuts" and Peggy Nichols Alvaro.
Sandi had a smile that could light up a room and personality to match. A humble and selfless person, Sandi loved being active in her community.
She was a sister in the Alpha Sigma Tav sorority at Fairmont State. Sandi loved with her whole heart and would gladly offer the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her strength and perseverance is to be admired. She loved tattoos, make-up, was a model in several publications and was enthusiastic about photography and blogging online. Sandi will truly be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Along with her parents, left to cherish Sandi's memory is her husband of seven wonderful years, Tyson C. Dick of Surfside Beach; her brother, Jesse Freeman IV of Fairmont; her sister, Derinda Morris and her husband Dallas also of Fairmont; two nephews; one niece; four great-nieces; her paternal grandmother, Marylin Ryder Alvaro; her beloved fur-baby, Luci; as well as a very large, loving, extended family.
A celebration of Sandi's life will be held from noon-2 p.m. on Monday, at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. A second celebration will be held in West Virginia, and those details will be announced when finalized.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions in Sandi's name may be made the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 3901 North Kings Highway, Suite 30, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
