Ruby G. Grogg, 103, of Fairmont, passed away at St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home on Friday (Dec. 15, 2017).
She was born in Weston, on Feb. 21, 1914, a daughter of the late Ralph and Rose Turner.
She was a member of Mount Harmony Church, enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and crocheting, and she loved spending time with her family. She was a kind and gentle soul, a beloved mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Bernadine Pigott and husband Robert, of Fairmont; a daughter-in-law, Linda Grogg, of Fairmont; and her grandchildren and their spouses, Debra Farrell and husband Larry, of New Hampshire, David Grogg and wife Selina, of Martinsburg, Jeffrey Grogg and wife Billie, of Pennsylvania, Mark Pigott, of South Carolina, and Robert Pigott and wife Lisa, of Morgantown.
She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse Ishmeal Grogg, in January of 1992; her son, Bernard Grogg; her brother, Virgil Turner; and two sisters, Pearl Poling and Thelma Knouff.

Friends and family will be received from 6-8 p.m. Monday and from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Ruth Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
