Rose Anna Jones Rose Anna Jones, 90, of Fairmont made her final transition on Friday (Sept. 7, 2018) while living at Rosewood Village Assisted Living in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She was born July 31, 1928, in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Harry Wilson and Oshia Fast Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harold Jones Jr., her five brothers Kenneth, Harry Jr, Paul, Steven, and George, and her sister Maxine Warner.
She is survived by her daughter Carmel Jones Nail, son-in-law Kenneth Nail, and grandson Colin Nail, all of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Rose Anna was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved gardening, cooking, and sharing stories with family and friends alike.
Rose Anna was a lifelong member of Jane Memorial United Methodist Church where she met her late husband, Harold. She enjoyed her many friendships in the church and spent many years working as church treasurer and in other church offices.
Rose Anna graduated from Grafton High School and spent her early working years working at AAA and Fairmont Supply prior raising her daughter Carmel. She returned to work as a manager at The Workingman's Store and Dodge Jewelers before her retirement. Rose Anna never met a stranger which was reflected in both her work and personal life.
A private family interment will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, where she will be laid to rest beside the love of her life, Harold.
A Celebration of Her Life will take place at Janes Memorial United Methodist Church at 1 p.m.on Saturday, Sept. 29. Please join her family at this time to share stories and celebrate the life of this kind and loving woman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Janes Memorial United Methodist Church (c/o Curtis Shaver, 5729 Beverly Pike, Grafton, WV 26354) or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont for the compassionate care Rose Anna received during her time in Charlottesville.
