Ronald Ralph Rowland, 67, of Fairmont, passed away on Dec. 10, 2017.
He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on April 19, 1950, a son of Jeanette "Nep" Rowland, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, and the late Eugene "Skip" Rowland.
Ronald graduated from Wayne High School and Fairmont State University, and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He ran Wood's Boat House with his partner, Pat Carr, for 37 years, and loved to help others with their boats. He loved to water ski, snow ski, cook on the grill and enjoyed going to basketball and football games. He was also an avid Harley Davidson rider for many years. He loved his family very much, and enjoyed the Tygart Valley River, Key West and Hollywood, Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pat Rowland; his sons, Adam Rowland and Ryan Rowland; a sister, Lynn Hlusko and husband Charlie; and a niece, Katelyn Hlusko.
He will also be missed by his many close friends, including Robert Wood, George Stewart, Pat Carr, Mike Tonkovich, Doug Wise and Bob Schmidt, just to name a few.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Rowland and Rick Rowland.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. A celebration of his life will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, Virginia 22202.
