Ronald Ralph Rowland, 67, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (Dec. 10, 2017). He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on April 19, 1950, a son of Jeanette "Nep" Rowland, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, and the late Eugene "Skip" Rowland.
Ronald graduated from Wayne High School and Fairmont State University, and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He ran Wood's Boat House with his partner, Pat Carr, for 37 years, and loved to help others with their boats.
He loved to water ski, snow ski, cook on the grill, and enjoyed going to basketball and football games. He was also an avid Harley Davidson rider for many years.
He loved his family very much, and enjoyed the Tygart Valley River, Key West, and Hollywood, Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pat Rowland; his sons, Adam Rowland and Ryan Rowland; a sister, Lynn Hlusko and husband Charlie; and a niece, Katelyn Hlusko.
He will also be missed by his many close friends, including Robert Wood, George Stewart, Pat Carr, Mike Tonkovich, Doug Wise and Bob Schmidt, just to name a few.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Rowland and Rick Rowland.
In keeping with Ron's wishes, his body will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home.
