Roger Lee Martin, 62, of Fairmont, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 6, 2016) at the Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 2, 1954, a son of the late Okey Thomas and Doris Jean Riley Martin.
He is survived by three daughters, Melissa Servoss and husband Kevin of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary V. Willard and husband Jonathan of Charleston, and Bethany Martin of Fairmont; three sons, Virgil Lamb of Lost Creek, Christopher Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Michael Martin of Charleston; three brothers, Robert T. "Tom" Martin and wife Brenda of Fairmont, Jeff Martin and David Martin both of Clarksburg; four sisters, Darlene Butler and companion Terry Vance of Haywood, Joyce Shanks of Newark, Ohio, Carol Jean Hall of Clarksburg, and Karen Fluharty and husband Ron of Clarksburg; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his former wife, Maureen Hinton of Charlotte, North Carolina; and special niece and nephew, Jessa and Jayden Martin.
He is also preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Sue Martin.
Roger was employed by Tag Chevrolet in Charleston, and later employed by West Virginia Choice as an in-home care-giver.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Fairmont and also attended Welcome Baptist Church in Fairmont. Roger also volunteered as a Special Olympics coach. He enjoyed working on cars and crocheting.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Friday at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, where funeral services will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. with Pastor Paul Mitchell. Interment will be at a later date at the Wilgus Fairview Cemetery in Willow Wood, Ohio.
