Robert Ellwood Maiden

Robert Ellwood Maiden, 74, of Fairmont, passed away on Monday (Aug. 6, 2018) at his residence. He was born in Warren, Ohio on Sept. 3, 1943, a son of the late Paul Maiden and LaRue Maiden. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Maiden.
Robert is survived by three sons, Bobby Maiden of Fairmont, Julius Torrence (Heather) of Brookfield, Ohio and Robert Lurch (Molly) of Bainbridge, Ohio; four daughters, Monica Maiden (Harold Mike) of Carolina, Susan Hamill (Arthur) of Fairmont, Laura Ash (Scott) of Prescott, Arizona and Kathleen Helmuth (Daniel) of North Bloomfield, Ohio; 29 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Grover Maiden (Pat) of Fowler, Ohio and many nieces and nephews including Robert C. Maiden, who was raised as a son.
In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sons, Patrick Maiden and Joshua Maiden; one daughter, Holly Maiden; one granddaughter, Samantha Hamill; two brothers, Chuck Maiden and Jack Maiden and four sisters, Nancy McMillen, Paulette Schreckengost, Dorothy Maiden and Betty Maiden.
Mr. Maiden retired as a truck driver for the K-Mart Warehouse in Warren, Ohio. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, enjoyed going to flea market sales, fishing and riding his motorcycles.
In accordance with Robert's wishes, there will be no public services. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.

I had the privilege of getting to know Bob while providing Hospice care. He always made me laugh. He had one great sense of humor. I didn't know him for long, but I'm sure glad I knew him. My deepest condolences to the family
