Robert Edwin Edge Sr., 82, of Main Street, Lumberport, passed away at Louis A Johnson VAMC of Clarksburg on Thursday (July 20, 2017) after a long battle with dementia.
He was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Rosebud, a son of the late William and Bertha Maine Edge.
He is also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joann Crutch Edge.
Surviving are his two sons, William Edge and his wife Rebecca of Harrison, Ohio, and Robert E. Edge Jr. of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Erin Edge Pope, Kari Edge Robben, Nicholas, Dana, Anthony, Anna, Bethany, Elizabeth and Patricia Edge; great-grandchildren, Jemma, Lilly and Summer Pope; Ella, Sofie and Emmett Robben; Kirrah, Robert and Bennett Edge.
Robert is also preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Lyon, Grace Kearns and Ona Darway; and three brothers, James, Carl and Clarence "Bucky" Edge.
Mr. Edge retired form the Westinghouse, where he worked for 36 years. He was a man that could fix anything, loved to camp and loved his friends and family.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston. A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Chad Huston officiating. Interment will follow at the Lumberport Lions Cemetery, where full military rites will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy.
