Robert A. DeLong


Robert A. DeLong, age 64, formerly of DuBois, Pennsylvania, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2018) at his home in Mannington, following several years of illness and disability. Bob greatly appreciated the help of his caregivers, the Senior Center staff, local church members and neighbors.
Bob was born Jan. 10, 1954 in Centre County, Pennsylvania and attended DuBois area schools. He graduated from Jefferson County Vocational Technical School, Class of 1972. He later studied at Ohio Valley University and trained at Triangle Tech in Pittsburgh. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving as an MP for four years, primarily in Germany. He worked in construction, manufacturing, security and HVAC service. He resided in the DuBois area, Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania and Mannington. He enjoyed sports when he was young, participating in hunting, baseball, wrestling and long-distance running. He was a member of the Church of Christ, having attended in Mannington in recent years.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Charles Jr. and Ann DeLong. He is survived by two sisters, Nancy (Allan) Skinner and Lisa (Dan) Cuneo, and two brothers, Thomas (Linda) DeLong and Stephen DeLong.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at the Mannington Church of Christ and also at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at the DuBois Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mannington Church of Christ, 706 E. Main St., Mannington, WV 26582.
