Robert "Bob"'s Story
Robert Lee "Bob" Prince, 82, of Grafton, passed away on Wednesday (Nov. 8, 2017) at Grafton City Hospital.
He was born at Falls Mill in Braxton County on May 22, 1935, a son of the late Arthur Prince and Nellie C. Heck Prince.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, retiring as a jet engine mechanic. He retired as a security guard at Fairmont General Hospital. He was a life member of the VFW 7048 and DAV Chapter 45 of Fairmont. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and yard work in his spare time. He will be remembered as a loving father.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelia Prince Kimbrel of Grafton: his stepsons, Gary Ice of Fairmont, Billy Pete Ice of Fairmont, and David Ice and his wife Brenda of Elkins; his grandson, Caden Kimbrel; along with several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ice Prince; a son, Randall Lee Prince; a grandson, Andrew Prince; three brothers, Bacil Prince, Willard Prince and Dick Prince; and his sister, Zelma Bleigh.
Friends and family will be received from 2-5 p.m. Monday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, his body will be cremated. Interment will be at a later date at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
