Robert "Bob"'s Story

Robert "Bob" Ray Jordan Sr., 84, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday (Oct. 23, 2016) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Fairview, on Feb. 10, 1932, a son of the late Earl Jordan and Octavia J. (Shaw) Jordan.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rosalyn "Rose" Rossi Jordan.
After graduating from East Fairmont High School, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for more than 40 years. Bob was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fairmont, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Golden Age, Eagles Club, Loyal Order of the Moose and VFW Post No. 629 of Fairmont.
He enjoyed bowling, camping at Big Bear Lake, playing horseshoes and traveling to visit his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, his sons, Robert R. Jordan Jr. of Winchester, Virginia, and Patrick B. Jordan of Martinsburg; his daughter, Pamela M. Jollon and her husband Tom of North Carolina; three very special grandchildren, Robert A. Abruzzino and his wife Heather, Blake H. Swyck and Jessica Jordan; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Abruzzino and Paisley Glasspell. He is also survived by a brother, James Jordan of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Madeline Jordan; three brothers, William Jordan, Roy "Dick" Jordan and Joseph Jordan; and a sister, Madalene McKay.
Friends and Family may call from 1-8 p.m. today at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. A vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with Sister Stella Cronauer officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 329 Maryland Ave., Fairmont with Father Walter M. Jagela as the Celebrant.
Interment services will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be conducted graveside by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
