Richard E. Robinson, 85, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully at Avow Hospice House in Naples, Florida on Feb. 12, 2018. Born March 12, 1932, he was predeceased by his brother, Horace Marvin (Pete) Robinson; father, Leslie Ray Robinson and Lochel Helone Robinson (Martin).
Mr. Robinson is survived by his son, Michael E. Robinson (Melissa) of Plainfield, Indiana; granddaughter, Jennifer Edmoundson (Scott); three-great grandsons, Carsen, Conner and Collin; daughter, Lisa A. Meyerhoff (John) of Chesterfield, Missouri; granddaughter, Alicia Meyerhoff; grandson, Christian Meyerhoff (Hadassa); twin daughters, Kathy L. Robinson and Karen L. McLaughlin (Justin) of Naples, Florida; granddaughters, Kelsey and Colleen; and his beloved dog, Harvey.
He was a graduate of Fairmont High School (1950) and attended Fairmont State. Proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga during the Korean War. He worked for Eastern Airlines for 29 years and at 53, he retired to Fairmont, to enjoy the beautiful hills and Mountaineer Football. He reconnected with lifelong friends and classmates. He was known as Dick, Arb and Robbie. He was a storyteller and joker. He loved to make people laugh. He will be missed by many.
A private memorial service will be held at the family farm in Lumperport this summer. Donations may be made to the Marion County Humane Society or Avow Hospice House in Naples, Florida.
