Richard "Bones"'s Story
Richard Dannis "Bones" Kisner, 66, of Smithtown Community, passed away Saturday (Jan. 13, 2018).
He was born in Fairmont on Dec. 12, 1951, a son of Bonnie B. (Porter) Kisner of Fairmont and the late Arthur Ray "Hoot" Kisner.
Richard graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1969. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He retired from Consolidation Coal Company Loveridge Mine in Marion County. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar and singing. He enjoyed feeding the wild animals near his home. He loved and adored his daughter and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Staci Marie Cook and her husband Bob of Fairmont; his grandchildren, Dane Cook, Donavon Saporito and Camden Kisner. Also surviving are two brothers, Darris Ray Kisner and his wife Edna and Arthur Dennis Kisner and his wife Barb; the mother of his children, Kathy (Rush) Harr; nieces and nephews, Josh and Jill Kisner, Jennifer and B. J. Gower, Shelly and Keith Howenstein; and great nieces and nephews, Maddox, Caleb, Carter, Heather and Matt, and Edna Rae.
In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by his only son, Richard "Richie" Kisner, Jr.
Friends and family may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Edward Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted at graveside by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
