Raymond Carl Boyce Sr., 86, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2017) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Fairmont, on July 31, 1931, a son of the late Harry Boyce and Irene (Lucas) Boyce.
He loved and enjoyed life to the fullest, and enjoyed driving for the Marion County Senior Citizens Center. His hobby was his family, and he loved spending time with them; he loved the Lord with all his heart, and left behind a beautiful little friend - his poodle, Piper, who misses him dearly.
Raymond is survived by a son, Raymond Carl Boyce Jr.; three daughters, Diana Ray Jacquez and husband Thomas, of Clarksburg, Rita Dawn Woertz and husband Fred, of Fairmont, and Mary Joan Rice and husband Donald, of Fairmont; and three grandchildren, Jesten Tyler Rice, Jonathan Peter Woertz and Alexis Dawnelle Maria Woertz. He is also survived by two sisters, Sandra Campbell and husband John, and Betty Perkins and husband Marion.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his loving, devoted and beautiful wife of 64 years, Mary Eleanor Coburn Boyce; three brothers, Harry Boyce Sr., Donald Boyce and Dee Boyce; and two sisters, Joan Boyce and Phyllis Boyce.
Friends and family may call from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Fancher officiating. Following the service, interment to follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Council Honor Guard at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
