Ray Lee Altizer, 58, of Barrackville passed away Friday (Jan. 19, 2018). He was born in Radford, Virginia, on Oct. 29, 1959, a son of Caroline (White) Altizer and the late Grover Altizer.
He worked as a mechanic and maintenance worker at the K&T Truck Stop, and was a Jack-of-all-trades who "could do just about anything." He enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling, and he loved his family deeply.
Ray is survived by his devoted partner of 32 years, Carmen Rose Feliciano, of Barrackville; a daughter, Catherine Marie (Feliciano) Moore, of Fairmont; his mother Caroline Altizer, of Oxford, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Quinton Christopher Currey, Savannah Storm Moore, and Preston Ryland Feliciano.
In addition to his father, Grover Altizer, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Lee Altizer; his son-in-law, Josh Moore; and his brother, Joe Altizer.
The Altizer family welcomes friends to visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery at Tower Hill in Monongah.
