Phyllis Lorraine Onderko Surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Phyllis Lorraine (Kramer) Onderko, 90, of Kramer Lane, Kingmont, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
Phyllis was born on Aug. 18, 1928 in Kingmont, a daughter of the late Gladys and Elza Ray Kramer.
A graduate of East Fairmont High School, Phyllis made a home for her family in Kingmont, where she lived her entire life. She was a strong Christian and a devoted member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Seekers Class, and where she was employed as a Church Secretary in past years. She loved to travel and visit with family and friends, and she maintained close relationships with her church friends and high school classmates. She was a former member of the Pythian Sisters, a fraternal order throughout the United States and Canada.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Onderko; and brothers, Donley and Jerry Kramer.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Rakocky and husband Michael, of Kingmont; son, Stephen Onderko, of Kingmont; three granddaughters: Leslie Rakocky, of Fairmont; Jenna Toothman and husband Andrew, of Kingmont; and Sarah Onderko, of Atlanta.
She is survived by three sisters: Colleen Stanley, of Monongah; Ruth Ann Kramer, of Kingmont; and Mary Ellen Haney, of Fairmont; sisters-in-law: Kathy Onderko, Connie Onderko, and Mary Kramer; as well as the lights of her life, her great-grandchildren, Mason and Max Toothman.
Phyllis' love of life and gentle nature, her sweet spirit and passionate love of God and family are treasured by all those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 1-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. Services take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Andrew Tennant officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, 1511 Pleasant Valley Rd., Fairmont, WV 26554.
