Pearl Jean (Harden) King, 83, of Grant Town, died Friday (Aug. 18, 2017) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
Pearl was the wife of the late Jess R. King, who passed away Aug. 4, 2007.
She was the daughter of the late Wayne and Catherine Milligdon Harden of Monongah. She had one brother, the late Donald R. Harden of Baltimore.
Jean was born in Monongah and was a 1952 graduate of Monongah High school. She was employed as a bookkeeper for People's Furniture for 11 years.
Jean married Jess King on Oct. 3, 1959. They were blessed with two sons, Mark J. and wife Lisa of Stafford, Virginia, and Bradley W. and wife Janie of Falling Waters. She was truly blessed with five grandchildren, Jessica, Phillip, Anthony, Katie and Grace, and a sister-in-law Leona Puskas of Grant Town. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Jean was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fairmont where she taught CCD and RCIA classes. She also belonged to St. Elizabeth Guild.
Jean enjoyed every day the flowers, birds, puzzle books, soap operas, family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont. A vigil service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter the Fisherman's Catholic Church with Fr.
