Pastor Hazel's Story
Pastor Hazel Ann Trickett DeBolt went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday (Aug. 11, 2017) in the comfort of her home following an extended illness.
She was born in November of 1942 in Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late Claude S. and Hazel Lenora Lindsey Trickett.
In addition to her parents, Pastor Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lewis DeBolt; one son, Todd Wilson; two brothers, Claude Allen Trickett and Carl Trickett; one sister, Mrs. John (Lula) Marra of Shinnston; as well as an infant nephew, Rodney Lipscomb.
Pastor Ann is survived by one daughter, Terry Ann Wilson of Michigan; two step-granddaughters, Mrs. Wade (Caryn) Kennedy and Mrs. Bob (Sharon) Rogers as well as their three step-grandchildren, all of Kansas; her grandson, Michael Todd Wilson of Fairmont.
She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Trista Wilson and Stephanie Wilson of North Carolina, Tonya Wilson of Virginia, Tyra O'Mara and Danny O'Mara I of Michigan; nine great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nephews and a special niece, Missy Turner of Pennsylvania.
Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth (Brenda) DeBolt of Fairview, Mrs. Robert (Laura) DeBolt of New Martinsville and Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Trickett of Washington, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Ann was a graduate of Shinnston High School. She earned her Bachelor of Divinity at West Virginia Christian University, where she was a member of the Alumni Association as well as a member of the West Virginia Christian Ministerial Association. Ann was the senior pastor of Praise Center Church in Meadowbrook since 1986. She also retired from Westinghouse/Philips Lighting with 37 years of service.
Ann extends a special thanks to her best friend, Charlotte Thompson, as well as all friends who made her life a better place during her illness.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, 1290 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, with Rev. Bill Preston officiating.
