Norma Jean Pritchard, 83, of Fairmont, Meadowdale Community, passed away peacefully at John Manchin Sr. Health Care on Saturday (Jan. 7, 2017)
She was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 13, 1933 a daughter of the late Norman Francis Jumper and Violet A. (Worley) Jumper Stimeling.
Jean graduated from high school in Pennsylvania in 1952. She worked as a clerk at the Sears store in Fairmont and as an Avon distributor. She was last employed as a cook for the Marion County Board of Education at the East Dale Elementary School. She was a member of the Church of God.
Jean is survived by her grandson, Shawn Monte Pritchard and his wife Allison of Fairmont; and four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Gracie, Saddie and Owen. Also surviving is her special aunt, Evelyn Gleim of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carl Blaine Pritchard, Sr., and her only child, Carl "Bug Man" Blaine Pritchard, Jr.

Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia Masonic Memorial Park in West Union.
