Naomi Vaughn Horner

Events

Naomi Vaughn Horner, 77, a long-time resident of Shinnston, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday April 24th, 2019 at the home of her wonderful caretaker, Sherry Sellers.
Born in 1942, Naomi was raised in Seven Pines and attended Mannington High School. It was there that she met her husband of 59 years, Bob Horner. They enjoyed being together, taking relaxing trips to Amish country and trying out various restaurants around West Virginia.
In October 2018, Naomi had the joy of seeing her daughter, Jackie Harbert, marry the love of her life, Chris Harbert, in a beautiful wedding with friends and family in attendance. Through this marriage, she was blessed with two bonus grandkids, Christopher and Victoria Harbert, whom she had come to love. Jackie was very important to Naomi and she loved her so much but it was her grandson, Ryan Holcomb, who was the apple of her eye. He meant the world to her and she was extremely proud of the man he has become. Naomi dedicated much of her time and a lot of her heart to being there for Ryan and had a major impact on his life.
She is survived by her Husband, Bob Horner; Daughter Jackie and son-in-law Chris Harbert; grandson; Ryan Holcomb and Fiancé Sarah Hamrick; along with two bonus grandkids, Victoria and Christopher Harbert.
Naomi was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shinnston, where she faithfully sang in the choir. She loved her family, spending time with those close to her and had a smile that brought joy to everyone around her.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with a funeral service on Saturday April 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kevin Nuzum officiating, Interment will be at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
