Nancy Belle Merrifield Naternicola, 82, of Fairmont, passed away at her residence Saturday (April 22, 2017), surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Fairmont. on Dec. 27, 1934, the daughter of the late Earl Edwin and Mildred Mae Salter Merrifield.
Nancy lived a full, joyful and eventful life. She was a member of the 1953 Fairmont Senior High School class. She worked at Westinghouse Corp. in Fairmont for 16 years, was a Marion County school bus driver for 23 years and volunteered with the Marion County Rescue Squad for several years. She provided in-home child care for several years and was co-owner of Home Plate restaurant.
She was an avid bowler and participated in many leagues and tournaments over the years. She was always there for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was especially proud of their achievements.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph Lessie Naternicola Sr.; her two sons, Joseph Lessie Naternicola Jr. and Stephen Earl and Tina Naternicola; and her cherished daughter-in-law, Nancy Louise Naternicola; her special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Aaron Lee and Kristi Naternicola (Colin and Caleb Masters, Halee and Heidi Knight), Adam Conan and Kristy Naternicola (Alex and Brooke), Aric Joseph and Melanie Naternicola (Austin, Ella and Claire), Christopher Eric and Christy Naternicola (Bryson and Cash) and Kirk Stephen Naternicola (Nicky); her brother-in-law and sister, William and Dolores Merrifield Sanson; sister-in-law, Betty Ashby Merrifield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Zane Merrifield; sisters, Patricia Merrifield West, Karen Sue Merrifield; and nephews, Daniel Merrifield and Jeffery Merrifield.

She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Chaplain Riggs officiating.
