Mary Lois Retton, 96, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (July 24, 2016) at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
Mary was born March 11, 1920, in Fairview, daughter of the late Lora J. and Georgia Jones Henderson.
Mary was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ, a seamstress and an avid West Virginia University, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Pam Washenitz and husband Frank; her son, Ronnie Retton and wife Lois, all of Fairmont; a brother, Danny Henderson and wife Ann of Columbia, Maryland; 10 grandchildren, Ronnie Retton, Jr. and wife Darla, Sheri Timko and husband Mike, Donnie Retton, Jerry Retton and wife Brenda, Mary Lou Kelley and husband Shannon, Joni Mentus, Tammy Flowers and husband Bryan, Lisa Cordero, Becky Morrone and husband Tommy, Frank Washenitz II and wife Terri; 26 great-grandchildren, Tessa Jo Darlington and husband Brandon, Brea Barclay and husband Donny, Jenna Mentus, Gannon and Bryson Flowers, Jaron Cordero, Brailey Gouzd, Talia, Kiley, Madison and Gia Morrone, Trey, Marley and Mason Washenitz, Ronnie L. Retton III, Wittlee Retton, Jacki, Karli and Tonya Timko, Drew, Brent and Ashley Retton, Shayla, Mckenna, Skyla and Emma Kelley; and four great-great-grandchildren, Cooper and Brynn Barclay, Annabelle Darlington and Logan Retton.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Marshall "Tally" Retton; one sister, Lorraine Burns; and one brother, Albert Lee Henderson.
Friends and Family may call from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Evangelists Dick Bartrug, Brent Gallagher and Peter Ray Cole officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
