Mary Ann Gargarella, 102, of St. Albans, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 27, 2017) at Sweet Blessings Care Home.
Mary was born Sept. 10, 1915 in Kingmont to the late Mary Grace and Domenick Teti.
She was an active faithful member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Fairmont where she sang in the Funeral Choir and participated in Catholic Daughters. She lived in Fairmont until turning 94 and then moved to St. Albans to be with family. After moving to St. Albans, she attended the Blessed Sacrament Parish in South Charleston. She was a volunteer at Fairmont General Hospital for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; five sisters; eight nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children, Marie (Richard) Hyland, Louella Gargarella Rascon, and Louis (Mary K.) Gargarella; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A service to honor the life of Mary will be held at noon Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Parish in South Charleston with Father John Finnell officiating. Family and Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at Mount Caramel Cemetery in Fairmont.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest for donations to Sweet Blessings Care Home, 2603 Roosevelt Ave., St. Albans, WV 25177.
