Mary Joanne Colbert, 88, of Fairmont passed away Tuesday (Sept. 19, 2017) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Mary was born July 23, 1929 in Fairmont, daughter of the late Paul and Thelma Davis.
Mary was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years at Fairmont General Hospital and the Fairmont Clinic. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was the Director of the Church Nursery Program for many years, was a member of the Church's Women's Circle, and taught Sunday school.
Mary is survived by two children, Scott Colbert and wife Jean of Romney, W.Va., and Karen Finamore of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hott and husband Robbie, Jaclyn Reimann, and David Colbert; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Brayden Hott; and several nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by four cats.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack N. Colbert; three brothers, Lyndon Kearns, Carroll "Bootsie" Kearns, and Bruce Davis; three sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Kearns, Jean Kearns, and Patricia Davis; a son-in-law, William P. "Chip" Finamore; and a niece, Leslie Davis.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at DomicoFuneral Home 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont. A private family memorial service will be held at a later time and burial at a later date.
