Lucretia's Story

Our beloved mother, Lucretia Moran Miller, 91, of Mannington, died Friday (Oct. 6, 2017) at John Manchin Assisted Living in Farmington.
She was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Harold and Tressie Rogers Moran.
Lucretia graduated from Mannington High School in 1943 and later retired from McCrory's in Mannington. She was Baptist by faith, being a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Mannington. When she was no longer able to attend church, she faithfully read her Bible daily.
She married the love of her life, Harry Wayne Miller, on Jan. 15, 1946, sharing their life together for 42 years until his death on July 22, 1988.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her joy was preparing Sunday dinners for her family so that they could spend time together
Lucretia will be greatly missed by her survivors, which include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and John Stull of Fairmont and Joyce and Donald Humphrey Jr. of Grafton; four granddaughters and their spouses, Pamela (David) McQuain, Sherri (Mark) Yoho, Janelle (Jeremy) Humphrey-Rowan, all of Fairmont, and JoDanna (Christopher) Johnson of Bridgeport; four great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons: Jenna (fiance Cory Adams), David McQuain, Bailey and Addison Yoho, Landon and Zylynn Rowan, all of Fairmont, and Brayden and Brody Johnson of Bridgeport. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Virginia Moran, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Rolfe Moran, and two sisters, Grace Moran and Blondina Titchnell.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of John Manchin Assisted Living in Farmington and Amedisys Hospice Care for the care provided to Lucretia.
Family and friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Greg Roth officiating. Interment will be at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
