Leonidus "Laddie" French Malone, 97, of Grafton, passed away on Monday (Oct. 30, 2017) at Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on July 11, 1920, a son of the late French L. Malone and Edna (Joliffe) Malone.
He was a member of Pruntytown United Methodist Church, and owned and operated Malone Electric and Machine Co. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his sons, David Malone of Morgantown and Dennis Malone of Fairmont, and his daughter, Janice Malone of Renton, Washington; he is also survived by a sister, Esther Burrough, of Fairmont.
In addition to his parents, Laddie was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Swisher) Malone in October of 1994. The couple were married on Nov. 8, 1946.
Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today, from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Catawba Cemetery.
