Lenard Carroll Eddy, 86, of Fairview, passed away Wednesday (July 12, 2017) at the Tygart Center in Fairmont.
He was born September 9, 1930, in Monumental, son of the late Kenneth and Ada Eddy.
Lenard was a former employee of the Marion County Board of Education, Consol Coal, Eastern Coal Company and Kisner Hardware. He was an avid camper, woodworker and handyman. He also spent his time renovating homes. Lenard was a member of the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ.
Lenard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Eddy; two daughters, Donna Jean Eddy of Fairview, and Rayanna Eddy of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Kendra Davis and husband Brian and Drew Eddy and wife Felicia; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Davis, Makayla Davis, Hunter Davidsson and Adrana Eddy; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Skip Wilson and Carolyn Sue Straight.
In addition to his parents, Lenard was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Deloris Hamilton and Edna Hamilton.
The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. Sunday and from 1- 2 p.m. Monday at the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ in Fairview. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ with Evangelist Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.
