Kenneth Junior Cottrell, 59, of Boothsville passed away unexpectedly at his home in Boothsville on Monday April 8, 2019. He was born in Fairmont on September 15, 1960 a son of Berlen Cottrell and his wife Sharon of Carolina and the late Rose Mary VanKirk Cottrell. Kenneth worked for Lowe's as a contractor for more than 20 Years. His hobbies included riding motor cycles, target shooting, Jujitsu and his dog Denim. In addition to his father, he is survived by his brothers, David Cottrell and his wife Terri of Fairmont, Ryan Cottrell and wife Kendra of Hutchinson and Russell "Rusty" and wife Kelsey of Carolina; a sister, Beverly Boggs of Pleasant Valley. Also surviving are his nephews and nieces and their spouses, David Cottrell, Charles Cottrell and John Cottrell all of Fairmont, Harper Cottrell of Hutchinson, Amelia Cottrell of Carolina and Elias Cottrell of Cottrell; Justin Boggs of Pleasant Valley, Lisa and Donald Sypolt of Hoult, Cody Cottrell of Pleasant Valley, Chloe Cottrell of Pleasant Valley and Hunter Cottrell of Hutchinson. In addition to his mother, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Hassam Cottrell in February of 2016; two sisters, Christine Cottrell and Kathy VanKirk, a brother-in-law, Billy Boggs and his grandparents, Russell and Agnes Cottrell.
Family and friends will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Saturday from 10 am to 2pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2pm with Pastor Bobby Kerns officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
