Kenneth Spencer Adams, 75, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (April 24, 2017) at John Manchin Sr. Health Care.
He was born in Newport News, Virginia, on Jan. 24, 1942, a son of the late Kenneth Korngold Adams and Helen (Zaremsky) Adams.
Spencer was a self-employed painter. He was a devoted Christian and loved and served the Lord by always helping people in need.
He is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 42 years, Barbara Ellis Adams; a son, J. Spencer Adams and his wife Chong of Gloucester, Virginia; a daughter, Michelle Murdock and her husband Steve of Hayes, Virginia; three stepsons, Russell Sypolt and his wife Shirley of Yorktown, Virginia, Robert Sypolt of Yorktown, Virginia, Rick Sypolt and his wife Cindy of Falmouth, Virginia; two stepdaughters, Linda Hunter and her husband Robert of Gloucester, Virginia, and Mary Sypolt; and several grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Larry Adams and his wife Brenda of Hampton, Virginia, and Bill Adams and his wife Linda of Gloucester, Virginia; a brother-in-law, Tom Ellis and his wife Fran of Fairmont, who lovingly helped care for him during his illness; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dale Adams; a brother, Freddy Adams; and a sister, Julia Smith.
Mr. Adams' family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Friday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
