Karen Sue Kirsch


Karen Sue Kirsch, 75, died on Monday April 1, 2019 at home with her family in Fairfax Station, Virginia. She was born at home in Mannington, West Virginia, the daughter of William Jason Hendershot and Helen Virginia Hendershot.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald George Kirsch, her brother, Frederick Jack Hendershot and sister Elizabeth Jean Clark.

Karen was beloved by her family and friends who were her greatest joy. Survivors include Karen's two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Sue and Michael Zinke, and Susan Marie and Joseph Ellis all of Fairfax Station, VA. Karen has three grandsons, Kyle Chapman and wife Mihwa Kim of Camp Zama, Japan, Jack Ellis and Sam Ellis of Fairfax Station, VA, and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Kaitlyn Chapman. Her surviving siblings include her sister Joan Hayes of Akron, OH; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Becky Hendershot of Mannington, WV; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maria and Ronald Haddock of Collinwood, TN. She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who all affectionately referred to her as 'Aunt Dink'.

A visitation will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032 on Thursday, April 4, 2019 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., when Karen will be laid to rest next to her husband Ronnie at Fairfax Memorial Park. Rev. Meg McLaughlin of Burke Presbyterian Church will be officiating. In lieu flowers, contributions may be made in Karen's name to either Capital Caring or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. www.fmfh.com

I am so sorry for your loss. Dink loved you all so very much! Every time she talked about Rhonda and Suzie and your families she lit up! She also missed Ron so very much, and now she is in Heaven with him. Rest in peace Dink, and may God grant you all His peace at this difficult time.
