Julius Longinos Dominick Calbo Jimeno (Pooch) passed away peacefully (June 27) at his residence in Tampa, Florida. His loving wife was by his side. Julius was born Jan. 16, 1945 in Fairmont. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School. Julius received his undergraduate degree from Fairmont State College where he was a member of Tau Beta Iota Fraternity. He attended West Virginia University and earned a Master's Degree in Safety Management.
Julius proudly fulfilled his military obligation by serving in the U. S. Army. His service included a tour of duty in South Korea. Julius moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he was employed by several government agencies including The United States Department of Labor and The United States Department of Agriculture. He retired from the Environmental Protection Agency where he served as Director, Safety, Health, Environmental Management Division. He was preceded in death by his parents, Longinos and Consuelo Calbo Jimeno. He is survived by the love of his life, Anita (Cookie) Jimeno of Tampa, Florida; his brother, Philip Jimeno and sister-in-law Ramona Gregory Jimeno; his sister, Norma Jimeno-Canales and brother-in-law Jorge Canales. He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, loyal friends, and extended family to celebrate his exceptional life.
Julius was a compassionate human being who provided love, care, and support to family and friends. There will be a celebration of his life from noon until 4 p.m. July 23 at Colasessano's at Middletown Mall.
