October 25, 1929 - October 24, 2017

Julia Angotti Root passed away on Oct. 24, 2017, after an extensive battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Salvatore John and Rose Marie Angotti.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Salvatore Angotti, and three sisters, Anna Brinegar, Sophia Saluga and Mary Brady.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Schaad and husband Tom of Florida; son, Robert Root Jr. and wife Carol of West Virginia; and daughter, Mary Ellen of Florida; grandchildren, Joseph Shenal and wife Carey of Virginia, Jennifer Poling of North Carolina, Robert Root III of West Virginia, Julie Shenal of Virginia, Nicole Houston of Florida, Nichole and Danny Phillips of North Carolina, Ashleigh and William Mathews and Thomas Schaad III; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Kaden Poling of North Carolina, Eden and Turner Shenal of Virginia, Bailey and Evan Root of West Virginia, Demarius Houston of Florida, Liam Mathews of Florida and Lorena Phillips of North Carolina; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Julia was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mannington and St. Clare parish in North Palm Beach, Florida.
In accordance with her wishes, Quattlebaum Funeral Home, West Palm Beach, Florida, will be providing cremation services. At a later date to be announced, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mannington with Masters Funeral Home in Mannington providing service for Julia's interment beside her beloved husband, Bob, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
A special thank you to the staff of Palm Garden Nursing Facility, West Palm Beach, Florida, for their tender loving care. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Julia's name to the Alzheimer's Research Association.
