Joy L. Kelly-Woods, 50, the daughter of Ted and Blanche Jackson went to be with our Lord on Sept. 15, 2017.
She was born in Fairmont on March 22, 1967. She was a 1984 graduate of West Fairmont High School. Joy was very determined in her studies. She received her Bachelors degree from Fairmont State University in 2011. With relentless ambition, she graduated from West Virginia University with her Masters degree in 2016. She had the passion to operate her own business successfully for 13 years.
She leaves to cherish the memories, one daughter, Lakiesha Hines of Fairmont; one son, Gerald Kelly II of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Kieshawn Cottingham, Israyel King, Alaya King and Gerald Kelly III, whom she loved dearly; two sisters, Alethea Moody-Wise of Morgantown and Kirstin Nida of Severn, Md.; two brothers, Kris Moody of Morgantown and Shawn Willey Sr. of Fairmont; several aunts and uncles who she was especially close to; all of her cousins were like siblings to her; and a host of many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Woods; an aunt, Edith Evans; two uncles, Robert Bey and Brazz Evans Jr.; and her cousin, Marion Hilson Jr.
Joy has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday at the Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Dobbs officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Domico funeral home, Morning Star Baptist Church, her caregivers and all those who have supported us during this difficult time.
