John's Story

Text size

It is with great sadness that the family of John Earl Williams, 70, announces his passing Tuesday (April 10, 2018) in Moyock, North Carolina, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born to Earl Williams and Betty Williams on Aug. 6, 1947. He was a native of Cameron, but spent much of his life in New Martinsville, as well Virginia and North Carolina.
He was an army veteran and worked in the telecommunications industry for over 40 years. He was a devoted, hard working and loving husband. He instilled compassion, love, and loyalty in his children, all of whom felt loved and cherished in his presence.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 48 years, Janet; his children, Craig (Wendy), Shanan (Pete), Stephanie (Jason), Chris (Gevony), Stacy (LG), and Christian; and nine grandchildren.
He will also be forever remembered by his siblings, Bob (Debbie), Christine (Andy), Nancy (Dan), Allen (Carol), and Bob (Patricia).
He will be joining in heaven his parents; sisters, Janet and Mary Lou; and his grandson, Cody.
He put up a remarkable fight and we are so proud of him. We will miss his kind heart, determination, and offbeat sense of humor. To the best husband, father, and grandfather, our hero, we love you and miss you.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 39 Maple Ave. Cameron, where services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with Bishop Marty Evers officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family. The Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military Honors.
