John Paul Phillips, 60, of Fairmont (Bellview), passed away Friday morning (Jan. 27, 2017) at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1956, in Fairmont, son of the late Loraine Gorey Knobel.
John was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed football, basketball, fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Tara L. McCale Phillips of Fairmont; his son, John P. Phillips and wife Lori of San Diego, California; daughter, Stacy Perroult and husband Glenn of Oregon; and step-daughter, Brandie Towns of Lake City, Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Terry Miconi of Fairmont, Jacquie Price and husband Gary of Mannington; a brother-in-law, Paul Park of Fairmont; and three nieces and two nephews.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister, Paula Park.
In keeping with John's wishes, he has been cremated. Friends may call from noon-4 p.m. Saturday at the Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Chaplain James Riggs officiating.
