John Mark Menefee, age 76, of Fairmont and formerly of Mannington, passed away on Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2017) at his residence.
He was born on March 7, 1941, in Fairmont, a son of the late Elmer Fay Menefee and Celia Aretta Hayes Menefee.
John is survived by his wife, Patty June Quickle Menefee of Fairview; two daughters, Tammy Dawn (Rodney) Hayes of Rachel and Treena DeAnne (Roy) Stout of Fairview; two grandchildren, Kelsey Dawn Stout of Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, and Tyler Aaron Hayes of Rachel; expecting a great-granddaughter next month; one brother, Richard (Sandra) Menefee of Fairmont; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Menefee, Tom Menefee and Gary Menefee.
John owned and operated Hilltop Swap Shop/Mountaineer Auction for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, yard sales and antiquing. He loved his family very much and was very proud of each member of his family, and his family loved him very much.
There will be no public viewing or funeral services. John's choice for final disposition was cremation. A private interment will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
