John Allen Haines, 67, of Cairo, died Friday (Jan. 12, 2018) at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1950 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Robert Eck and Ethel Haines.
Mr. Haines worked for the township and also for the roads and streets department in Edgewater Park, New Jersey. John was a member of the Xavier Catholic Church in Parkersburg.
Surviving is his wife, Janet Mercer Haines; one son, Frankie Hill of Harrisville; three daughters, Jan Stone of Beverly, New Jersey, Judy Haines of Cairo and Samantha Haines of Pennsboro; four grandchildren, Amy Rose Brenden, Jan Rebecca Russon, Taylor Larson and Domenique Stone; and two great-grandchildren, Lily Brendon and Jonathan Brendon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Arthur Brenden.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred. Services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery near Hundred.
