John Michael Haddix, 64, of Fairmont passed away at his home Friday (Feb. 23, 2018). He was born in Fairmont on July 13, 1953, a son of the late John Oscar Haddix and Pauline Madeline (Conner) Haddix.
John worked as a mechanic for 20 years at Larry Myers' and 10 years at Jeff's Auto. He enjoyed his model trains and loved working the family farm. He attended Levels United Methodist Church, and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. John also loved his faithful border collie, Champ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Roberta (Talbert) Haddix; his son, Jason Moore and wife Sherri, of Fairmont; his daughter, Nicole Haddix, of Fairmont; and three grandchildren, Landon Michael Haddix, Madeline Everly Moore and McKinley Hunter Moore.
He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Fisher, of Morgantown and Jean Shuttlesworth and husband Junior, of Fairmont; as well as his nieces and nephews, Vickie Fisher, Carl Elkins, John W. Elkins, John Tucker and Patrick Talbert; a brother-in-law, Cobin Elkins; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Talbert; and several aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Edward Fisher; and his father-in-law, Leslie D. Talbert.
Friends are invited to call from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at Nuzum Cemetery.
