Joan Bice Toothman, 83, of Fairview, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1933 in Enterprise, WV, a daughter of the late Clyde W. and Daisy P. Griffin Bice.
Joan graduated from Shinnston High School. She was then employed as a builder/service worker at Fairmont State college where she later retired. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking. She was a good mother and wife and also liked to help people. She was also a member of the Church of Christ on Washington Street in Fairview.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Jess L, Jr. and Rachel F. Toothman, Kevin E. and Martha J. Toothman, and Nancy J. and Brad Zorik all of Fairview; 6 grandchildren: Taylor Jolliffe, Travis Toothman and wife Heidi, Greg Toothman and wife Kristen, Daniel and Kati Toothman , Aimee J. and Evan Zorik; 4 great grandchildren: Cheyann, Shelby,Kyla Jo, and Silas Toothman; siblings: Betty Burnett of Shinnston, Everett Bice of New Martinsville, and Jean Smith of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband Jesse L. Toothman on July 14, 2015.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Michael P.
