Joan Kay Boyce, 75, of Fairmont, passed away from complications of a stroke on Wednesday (July 5, 2017) at Rosewood Center in Grafton.
She was born in Marion County, on April 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Harry Dana Boyce Sr. and Irene (Lucas) Boyce.
Joan graduated from East Fairmont High School and worked at Owens Illinois Glass Plant until the plant closed. She attended the Baptist Temple. Joan was a devoted caregiver for her sister Phyllis.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond "Pete" Boyce of Fairmont; a sister, Sandra Campbell and her husband John of St. George, Utah; several caring nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Boyce Jr., Donald Boyce and Denzil "Dee" Boyce; three sisters, Betty V. Perkins, Mary Ann Boyce in infancy and Phyllis Boyce; three sisters-in-law, Elnor Boyce, Lillian Morgan and Anna Boyce; and a brother-in-law, Marion Perkins.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
